Today is the first day of the rest of my life

This week was a bad one for sure but I’m getting all that stuff rationalized and really am seeing a window of great opportunity. Looking forward to fishing the next 2 days fishing and even slightly looking forward to school. It’s busy work and I can’t fish much but it always opens me to new friends and some great opportunities. As I’ve found,  School is a chance for networking and meeting some solid people.  I got to deal with the remainder of my stress and if anything, I feel relieved. Taking a step back and realizing I have a lot of amazing friends I am greatful for (thanks guys) and also some amazing things going in my life that gives me a good feeling. Even at work I came in and said to myself , “today is the first day of the rest of my life”, felt a bounce in my step and was great!  So that was just a little pre-story  With my blogs I try to incorporate some sort of message or some sort of advice either be my realization or bits I’ve been given and ...

Time, enemy’s, and successfully failure

What’s scary than dying, is existing without truely living. & other notes Once you die, it’s over. Song was sung and what was said was done... but if you exist still, well you’re still on the clock. What’s scarier then dying is catching yourself at 30,40,50,60,70 or maybe 80 years old and realizing you haven’t done anything with your life. Now, that’s terrifying because you can’t get that time back. Even wasting a year of your life is a considerable amount of time. 80 years is a blink of an eye for this world. Trust me, in a world that could be billions of years old, we have no idea what, “a long time” really is. If we live till 80 years old, we get 29,200 days, which is  700,800 hours, which is 42,048,000 minuets. These numbers seem big but take into consideration most of us reading this are over 20 years old . At 20 years old, we have lived 7,300 days.. these numbers don’t seem so big anymore. Simple math , if we live to 80 years old.. we are 1/4 through our life journey. I...

just thinking

I'm in a troubling place in my life. The past two weeks have been pretty tough to be honest. Its just a  cycle I haven't been tuned to in a while. I wake up to no texts, work/go to school periodically check my phone to see the same, Go work out till 2 am in the morning to burn time with little hope of a convo. Its a lot of small things I just realized how tuned I became to. Don't get me wrong, i'm content with myself but even after hours of walking in by myself on the river, its nice to talk about the day and reflect on everything. Its always been a big part of my growth was to really recap what happened. I wouldn't even say I have a lack of friends because that would be a lie, I have some of the best friends a man could ask for. I just think I got to utilize my time on me and count my blessings and not what i'm missing. I want to take up singing, been doing a lot of it and getting better. Im mostly working on control and practicing using my voice as a form of...

Happiness

Chase things that make you happy, not happiness itself. What I mean by that phrase is chase things that will provide you with long term happiness. I think the biggest issue among people my age is that people don’t know what to seek out for happiness. A lot of happiness I see people chase is short term and may be destructive in the long run to themselves. Alcohol being one of the biggest Deamons among 18-23 years old. No ands, butts or ifs, nothing good comes from the bottle in the long run. Short highs with long downers, the happiness comes quick. I hear people talking about how they had a rough week and it’s their escape but trashing your self only sets you up for an even harder following week.  Among drinking, accumulating possession as a way to receive a jolt of happiness just doesn’t work. A lot of commercial brands hit on our deepest insecuries trying to show a quick fix to all our issues. No pair of jeans will make you’re inner consciousness go away, only to just beco...

A dream

A dream- something to chase that gives us meaning throughout our whole entire life. A dream is what keep us going throughout life with a smile on our face. A dream is what keep us hungry to wake up and bust our asses at work to fund our passion. A dream is what keeps us conscious of our decisions because one mistake can take it all away. A dream is what teaches us to use mistakes as a form of education instead of self  destruction. A dream is what allows us to grow as a person throughout our whole entire lives. A dream is what gives us the sense of pride that  keeps our chest  out and our heads high because one day the chase will come to an end, and you are left with a legacy of memories all because of that dream you chased took you farther then your younger self ever dreamed of.

Your time is now

From the second you entered this world, your time just started. Ever second you are here, it’s your time. It’s your time to do what ever you want, whenever you want. Truthfully, you can do what ever you want with your time here. The way you use your time on this earth can dictate how fulfilling it may be. You could waste your life away or make life what you always wanted it to be, it’s a choice of effort. Everyone has their own picture of what they want their life to look like. No one can dictate success for anyone else. Success is an inner feeling that gives a person a sense of satisfaction on where life is at and where it is going. Success doesn’t have a fine set of Principles that must fit a check list to be considered, “successful”. Success isn’t an end point, it’s a journey. A lot of people believe success is this concrete end point and if we don’t reach it we can label our attempts as unsuccessful. The truth is, the end point is always something to chase, but the journey is wha...

Fly fishing wears the same waders Fly fishing wears the same jacket Fly fishing wears the same Buff Fly fishing fishes the same rod  Fly fishing only fishes when its peak season Fly fishing dumps the boat in at 7PM and rows down to the still water just to sit on a fish just before ten other boats come down at 9 to see another guy beat them there Fly fishing believes that only certain sections have big fish Fly fishing is Scared of doing something new **************************************** Fly fishing is my life. There is nothing I would rather do than beat the living shit out of my wading boots and get myself into some hell just to hopefully trick a fish into eating my fly, then poking him with a hook and then scooping him with a janky green net my father passed down to me, then release this beautiful fish just to experience that one more time. I'm out there to see things with my own eyes. What I see, is what I retain as experience. ...
